Don and Candy Spurlock were there. They gave me so much news and trivia, that I will have to split it up and include it in other parts of the newsletter, (maybe over the next several months! <grin>). The big news is that Don is having a birthday and Candy announced that they would appreciate our company celebrating it at T-Bone Tom's in Kemah, (off of Hwy 146). I'm not sure if Candy made the announcement starting with the phrase, "We are going to have a surprise birthday party for Don...", however, someone said it and it was good for a few chuckles. Don is going to be 72, my wife still is having a hard time believing that fact. You're "Looking Good" Don!
Warren Trost made the meeting also, and to be honest, I'm not sure if he was riding his Gold Wing. I usually see Warren at Kelley's just about every time I go to the Saturday breakfast. However prior to our club's monthly meeting, I saw Warren at the HAL-PC monthly meeting, (Houston Area League of PC Users), fielding and answering computer questions for the audience. I don't know how he finds the time!
Jerry Neel noted that he took a rather long ride recently, (2800 miles? I think), and said he would submit an article about it for the newsletter. I would also like to apologize for spelling his name incorrectly in the last newsletter. Sorry Jerry!
Vince Hefley was there and brought a guest. Hopefully Vince will continue to actively pursue getting Kathy Sanders and her husband to join our ranks. Kathy gave us a tip on cleaning motorcycles when she was there.

Bill Carlton, "The State of Texas Representative for the Retreads". Bill Carlton could not make it, and left Pat a message saying so, a couple of hours before the meeting started. We didn't know this at the time however.
Bob and Mabel Abrasley came to the meeting. I haven't seen these guys for awhile. Guess Bob is finally getting his head above water after the infamous "Tax Due Date" of April 15, (which was extended this year, I think). Mabel told me that they sold their old trailer and bought a new trailer. It is a "Tahoe by Thor". Hope y'all get a lot of use and happy times with it! Bob talked about a trip he took to Luckenbach in the past. Apparently the ice chest was not properly secured and either fell off or was about to and either did or didn't run over it, (Sorry Bob, I can't remember the whole story exactly). But, knowing Bob the way we do, he will be able to tell us another similar story. Right Bob? (Just joking guy!)
Tim Hollingsworth reported that he has noticed a lot more debris out on the Houston area streets and gave us a warning to watch out and use lane positioning to keep out of trouble. The left and right section of the lane are generally cleaner.
James Mangum was also there and was being polite, friendly, and quiet as usual. I think James told me he has about 25K miles on the Honda PC he bought about 2-3 years ago. Has it been that long already?
Finis Turner, a long time member, rejoined the Houston Retreads at the meeting. I was on a ride with Finis a couple of years back which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also got a chance to chat with Finis at Kelley's last month. I believe that I will quote what Finis said about the Houston traffic for the rest of my life. I asked Finis whether he was getting any riding in recently and he said, "Not much". I told him that he couldn't have forgotten much since he arrived
